Jalika comes from kujali, Swahili for "to care". It is welfare management software made in Kenya for the associations that carry their members through life's hardest moments.

Welfare associations are one of the strongest safety nets in Kenya. Yet most still run on exercise books, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups, and the officials who give their evenings to the welfare carry the burden of keeping it all straight.

We built Jalika so that treasurers stop copying M-Pesa messages into Excel, members can see their own statements, and every shilling contributed or paid out can be traced. The result is a welfare that runs on trust, because the figures speak for themselves.
