Terms of use
The rules for using the Jalika website and the Jalika welfare management service.
Last updated: 4 November 2026
1. About these terms
Jalika is provided by Eujim Solutions Limited (“we”, “us”). These terms apply to anyone who uses this website or the Jalika service: associations that subscribe (“the association”), their officials, and their members who use the member portal. By using Jalika you agree to them. An association's signed order form or agreement, if any, takes priority where it differs.
2. The service
Jalika helps welfare associations keep their member register, contributions, receipts, claims, loans, meetings, votes and reports, and send messages to members. We may improve or change features from time to time; we will not remove a core feature an association is paying for without reasonable notice.
3. Accounts and security
- The association decides who its officials are and what each role may do. It is responsible for everything done under its officials' accounts.
- Keep your password private and use your own account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- Members sign in to the portal with their phone number and a password or SMS code. They see only their own records.
4. The association's responsibilities
- Enter accurate information and have a lawful basis (usually members' consent and your constitution) for the member data you put into Jalika. You are the data controller for it.
- Follow your own constitution and rules. Jalika applies the rules you set (waiting periods, benefits, approvals), but decisions on claims, loans and payments are yours.
- Send only messages members would expect from their association. Don't use Jalika for spam, unlawful content or to message people who haven't agreed to hear from you.
- Keep your own copies of important records. You can download reports and registers at any time.
5. Money
Jalika records money; it does not hold it. Contributions paid by M-Pesa go to the association's own paybill or till, and Jalika receives a notice of each payment from Safaricom. We are not responsible for money held by the association, for M-Pesa or bank outages, or for payments sent to the wrong number.
6. Fees
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly, in advance, at the price for the association's plan, or as a one-off licence fee where agreed. SMS beyond the plan's allowance, and WhatsApp messages, may be charged separately.
- If payment is late we may limit the account after reminders, and suspend it if it stays unpaid. Data is kept safe while suspended.
- Fees already paid are not refunded for part of a billing period, unless the law requires it.
7. Data protection
We process the association's member data as its data processor, only on its instructions, and protect it as described in our privacy policy. Eujim Solutions Limited is registered with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) as a data controller and a data processor, under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
8. Acceptable use
Don't try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, test or break the security of Jalika without our written permission, copy or resell the software, or overload the service. We may suspend an account that does, to protect other users.
9. Availability and support
We aim to keep Jalika available at all times and back up data regularly, but there may be planned maintenance or interruptions outside our control. Support is available by phone, WhatsApp and email during the hours shown on our contact page.
10. Ownership
The association owns its data. We own the Jalika software, name and website. We give the association a right to use Jalika while its subscription or licence is in force.
11. Liability
Jalika is provided with reasonable skill and care. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or decisions an association makes using Jalika, and our total liability in any year is limited to the fees the association paid us in that year. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Kenyan law.
12. Ending the service
An association may stop at the end of any billing period. We may end the service with 30 days' notice, or at once for a serious breach of these terms. On request we will give the association an export of its data, then delete it within 90 days.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. We will first try to settle any dispute by talking; if that fails, the courts of Kenya will decide it.
